After quite some time in the United States Patent Office, our patent was approved. It can be seen here: http://tess2.uspto.gov/bin/showfield?f=doc&state=4006:rjuo5q.3.1. In order to be a registered trademark it had to be unique. They searched for more than a year to find someone else who was using our process. They didn’t find anyone. It also had to be worthy. You can’t patent the wheel, that would be silly. It also passed this test.
So, our process for marketing clients known as Think. Execute. Measure is now a registered trademark. We still look at it and think it’s common sense. We can’t imagine going about it any other way.

Recently, R.A. and I went to an SEO conference hosted by SEOmoz in Seattle to see what we could learn from some of the best minds in the business. The host of the conference is a company owned by a gentleman named Rand Fishkin. Rand launched SEOmoz in 2007 and has since been named one of the best young tech entrepreneurs by BusinessWeek. If time and money needed to be invested in a conference to better ourselves the company and clients, this was the one to invest in.
Internet Honey not only wanted to see what we could learn, we also wanted to gauge where we were in the grand scheme. How far ahead or how far behind are our tactics as a company and in the world of SEO? We quickly found ourselves to be using the same equipment, the same programs and devices as most of the companies there with a national footprint. We’re on par with and in some instances beyond much larger companies. As far as knowledge is concerned, we’re looking good there as well. We took away knowledge from several lessons and reaffirmed that we really know our trade with some other lessons.
We picked up a few tactics for social media and were introduced to some very innovative tools that will provide value to our clients. The entire purpose of this conference was to ensure that Internet Honey is using the absolute best practices, devices and tools available for our clients. From what we saw and experienced, we are. This conference taught us a few things, but the most important thing we took away was that we are providing value to our clients in the most efficient and effective way possible right now.
